MTEXT problems

When I edit or create MTEXT the text editing window is HUGE.  Attached is a screen shot of how the text looks in the drawing and also how it looks after I click on it to edit it. Similar behavior happens when the text is originally created.

How do I keep it from enlarging the text so much when it's created or edited?  I'd prefer to have it stay the size as it is displayed on the screen before I click on it to edit.

Autocad 2015.

Double-click on the MTEXT to open the editor.  Either right-click in the text box or on the pull-down arrow on the top right of the editor toolbar, select "Editor Settings" → "Always Display as WYSIWYG".  That will leave the text the same size.
