Autocad takes a long time to close or close the last open drawing tab relative to closing drawings when other tabsare still open. Is this an issue others are experiencing and if so can it be sped up? We are currently using Autocad 2015 but this has been an issue for the past few years.
Do you have this issue regardless of the drawing(s) that are open? In other words, slow to close everytime closing AutoCAD?
Have you checked for file corruption by running AUDIT or RECOVER on your files?
How long are you in AutoCAD before closing it?
Here are a few additional things to try:
Set AutoCAD to run as administrator (not for Windows XP)
Disable User Account Control (not for Windows XP)
Turn off Windows Aero (Windows Vista and 7)
Reset AutoCAD to defaults
There could be damaged settings files that AutoCAD is not able to write to when it exits. For most versions of AutoCAD 2012 and newer, the reset utility is under Start > All Programs > Autodesk > AutoCAD 201x > Reset Settings To Default.
Same happens here, even after trying Autodesk's suggestions.
The last drawing to close takes a long time to do so. The other drawings close pretty quickly.
The same happens with Civil 3D as well, but not quite as bad as my AutoCAD.
It was definitely happening with my 2015 and now happens with my 2016.
I'm going to add my experience also.
Program closes all but the last open file normally.
When closing the last open file the screen hangs and occasionally if I move over to another application after 10-20 seconds and come back I'll be presented with the start screen again but occasionally it will just fatal error.
Acad mechanical 2016.
I've tried the usually fixes but to no avail.
Did you ever sort this out?
I have the same issue and it seems to be related to our custom Tool palettes that are located on a network drive.
I resolved replacing the Autodesk folders in appdata\roaming and appdata\local of the user with the same ones in administrator user.
