im not too hip with shapefiles/linetypes. but here is my current situation. everything was working fine for the past 2 weeks since our civil2013 install. yesterday i started a new drawing with our template, and now our linetypes are just dashed lines. its not loading the x's for fences, or any of our other custom shapes. i opened an old drawing which was working fine, and it now has the same issue.
the support file path is pointed to a local folder which contains a customised .shx file made by a previous employee here.
not sure what to check, what to fix...
Go to Properties, Line type, Others..., Load...
If not found in the list, then continue by clicking file... And select a .lin file, if not found look for your .lin file and copy/past it in the support folder,
ok, if i go into layermanager, the linetype is set correctly.. supersilt fence layer should be ssf linetype. and it is set to that. when i click load and browse to our .lin file, it pops up a hundred errors saying.. bad definition of xxxxxx at line x of file x. im the only one who is using these files. how would it have gotten messed up? how do i repair it?
is it likely that the .shx file has become corrupt or something? i have the it guy getting me an old copy of it from an old backup. that may take a while. in the meantime, all of our drawings are unplottable, as most lines are essentially invisible, besides for tiny dots.
is there a better forum for this topic?
Thanks for the suggestion, but i dont believe that is the issue. these are drawings that i have plotted, and have worked fine, with the correct annotative scale set, and the correct linetype scale set and no changes have been made, and when i open them now, the shapes etc, are not showing. and like i said, im getting those errors when loading the linetypes.
here are the files im using. maybe thats necessary to get this figured out...
its a zip containing a .lin file and a .shx file
thanks again everyone. i have a boss and a client breathing down my neck.
Send old drawing and new drawing after you used a new template. Erase everything but do not purge.
Maybe it's metric and standard issue.
