LINETYPE with two colors?

I need to represent some lines, in model space, that alternate in color, yellow/red, that are "scalable" with respect to different sscale viewports in paperspace.

my initial idea was to use two lines, each in which the dash and space between were the same distance, then just offset the yellow/red lines enough for each to fill the others gaps.

but, wondering if it was possible to represent that in a single linetype?

No.  You might  be able to use an associative array to do what you want but colors are set at the object level (except for mtext)

being able to assign width was another factor, no option for that with mline?

Do you mean linewidth? A standard linewidth property applies also to MLines - see the Properties palette (Ctrl+1) and switch LWidth display On.

Sorry, it is called lineweight (not using the English version) in the Properties. The display switch can be toggled with the LWDISPLAY variable.

yea, thats line weight, it applies to plotted values.

i was referring to line width, as with polylines, you can assign width to line.

i am representing some painted lines for aisles, 1:1 in model space.

for now, i am using a polyline, solid yellow, with a copy that is a dashed red.

created linetype for the red to be 10" spacing.

each bylayer, i move the red to the front, and above other objects.

this gives me the dashed line without too much trouble.

although i will use the mline option in the future, where a line width is not required.

It was so nice to find this CAD forum that you are talking about. Much appreciated. Anyway, I have a problem setting colors as soon as I have mlines in the drawings whose styles become are not longer available. Any ideas?
