Layout Tab Missing

I loaded 2015 right out of the box.  No customizations (yet).  Nothing non-standard running.  But just like the other 7 installaions I've done inside the company, the Layout Tab (containing the Create View panel, Modify View panel among others) is missing.  And when I say missing, I mean not available no matter Workspace I try.  This is completely unacceptable.  Any ideas as to how to get this back?

Don

If you'd like to email me at dscribner@wascoproducts.com that would be fine.

Layout Tab, in the Ribbon? What version had that? Looking at 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 here OOTB and I don't see a Layout Tab in either of them.

You mean this, right?

That has been there since at least 2013 IIRC. I know because it's one of the first things I disable on a new install.  I don't know why it would not be there. Have you checked the CUI to see if it's in there but just not enabled to appear when a layout is selected? Did you upgrade an existing install and if so, did you let it do a "migrate settings"?

Ah! I missed that altogether, the LAYOUT tab appears on the far right in the tab only when AutoCAD is maximized here (while in a layout tab). I wonder if the OP has the same problem.

I'll try this again.

See he attached for the parts that I'm missing.  The "Layout" and "Layout Views" panels are there but everything else is missing.  I used them in 2013 so they should have migrated at very least.

I'll be happy to help some on this but - but can yo0u post a screen shot of the 2015 layout tab that is missing the panels please?

Greg,

Yes, that's what they are supposed to look like.  (I did attach a PNG file)

Everything to the right of "Layout Viewports" is gone.

Sorry - I missed your screen shot.

Try this:

With a layout tab (Paper space) active,

Click on the Layout tab in the ribbon and then right click anywhere on the ribbon.

You will see the below options in the right-click menu.

Click on "Show Panels" and then make sure that the panels listed have check marks next to them  (shown below)

Show Panels.jpg

If this doesn't work and you don't mind resetting the settings to their out-of-the-box state so that you can start from scratch, you don't have to repair or re-install, you can use the "Reset to Default" option from the start menu (shown below).

  • Click Start menu
  • All Programs
  • Autodesk
  • "AutoCAD 2015 - English"
  • click "Reset Settings to Default"

I hope this helps

~Greg

Here's what I can tell from the screen shot that you just posted:

1 Home tab - Show Panels.jpg

This is what I think is shown above

Do the following:

3 Show Panels with layout tab active.jpg
