lag by use of big x-ref (autocad 2015)

Hi all,

i have a xeon E5-1620

8gb RAM

windows 7.1

when i load a big dwaring as x-ref he gives a huge lag. I've allready tried a small dwaring and that's working fine. I also have tried some windows settings, but its doenst make any differents, so i belief its something in my Autocad settings.

I found another post, and the answer there was set cannonoscale tot "1:1". In the main- and XREF-dwg. But that didnt fixed the lag.

What is a "big" drawing to you? how many Xrefs? What sizes are the XCrefs? Your PC specs are on the low end for truly 'big' files, not enough RAM and not sure about the rest of the PC specs (including video card).

BTW AutoCAD does nothing with a multi-core processor: you have a good base speed with that one but the other three cores are just hanging out drinking cocktails when AutoCAD is up.
