Is there a way to personalize menus and toolbars, to fit my needs?

Hi all,

Im new to the forum, so a bit of an introduction; My name is Jon. I design restaurnats in Los angels and Las Vegas, to meet health and building codes. I've been working "primitively" in a way that I have a file saved with 100's of pieces of restaurant equipment, which I use to copy and paste onto floor plans.

Ideally, there would be a menu or a toolbar that sais "Equipment", Click it and you'd see "Ovens, Ranges, Refrigerators, Freezers, Mixers...Etc." Click on "ranges" and you'd see "4 burner Range, 6 burner range...Etc." and so on with every pice of equipment I need.

Is there a way to create a toolbar like this?

Im working with AutoCAD2013 by the way.

Any information helps.

Thanks.

Hi,

You can use Tool Palettes for your needs (Ribbon->View tab->Palettes->Tool Palettes. or TOOLPALETTES command)

How to start?

Open Tool Palettes

One of the ways is to create new Palette in Tool Palettes is to open DesignCenter, navigate to your drawing "with 100's of pieces of restaurant equipment", open Bocks section, select blocks you want to add to Palette (you can create separate Palettes by type of your equipment - "Ovens, Ranges, Refrigerators, Freezers, Mixers...Etc.") right-click on it and choose "Create Tool Palette".

You will see newly created Palette, you can rename it at this time.

Repeat this step for all equipment groups.

Then you can organize new group in Tool Palettes (via "Customize Palettes") and collect all your palettes in this group.

Here are some helpful links about Tool Palettes customization:
