Importing Drawings

We are trying to import PNG files into AutoCAD with no luck. We've tried exporting PNG files into DWG files (via this tutorial: http://10.2.110.84:15871/cgi-bin/blockpage.cgi?ws-session=402728468 ) but AutoCAD adds a white area around the image (basically flattens the PNG file).

We've tried everything to try and import a dozen different PNGs into AutoCAD with no luck. Anyone have any suggestions on how to import these files without AutoCad filling in the rest of the image with whitespace?

I'm attaching one of the images "Eyewash" as a plain PNG file.

Also attaching one of the files "AED" that we converted with the above method hyperlinked above. Note that the DWG file "AED" references the PNG file "AED."

I was able to drag and drop into AutoCAD 2015. Then if you click on the png and go to properties and to the bottom where it says Background transparency and click on yes the white background goes away but you still have a white outline of the box. Hope this helps.

Thanks so much for your help! Is there any way to remove the white border? We're trying to lay these images on top of other images and the white border is unfortunately just not working...

Try setting IMAGEFRAME to 0 to make it go away completely. With the border gone you can't select it to move it or anything, so you can set IMAGEFRAME to 2 to display but not plot the border.

That fixed it!! Thanks SO much! This truly saved us another two weeks of fighting this thing!
