How to change default DIMSTYLE for generic .dxf drawings

How do I change the defauly DIMSTYLE for "generic" .dxf drawings?

Quite often, I generate .dxf files from SolidWorks, then work them up in AutoCAD before sending them out for fabrication.

I would like to change some of the defauly DIMSTYLE options.

Thanks for any help.

While you are working on the DXF file in AutoCAD, what is preventing you from changing them there?

I am guessing there is nothing "preventing" me from changing it.  I just need to know how to do it.

Well you can run the DDIM command and edit as you like, or if you're doing the same edits to multiple drawings over and over, you can study the DIM* variables and create a script file to set the desired ones to the desired settings.

How is DDIM different than DIMSTYLE?  Looked pretty much he same when I pulled it up.  Thanks for your help, by the way.

Us older users call that command by its old name DDIM.
You noobs call it by the 'newer' name DIMSTYLE 🙂

Don't get fogged up so easily that you miss the valid support answer.
