I think the "Shell" command takes you to the operating system.

If you need to hollow out a 3d object, create a 3d object of the hollowed out portion, and use the "Subtract" command.

The Subtract command will allow you to subtract one 3d object from another 3d object.

Correct, it's not "SHELL" it's a Shell operation within SOLIDEDIT

Is "shell" within "solidedit" a new command?

(am still on 2012 here)

I'm prettys sure Shell was one of the original operations included with the introduction of SOLIDEDIT command in 2000

P.s. what do you use to create the little video?

You can use Camtasia which is a screen capture program and then when converting the video choose the gif option.  Luckily the forums display gifs pretty well.

Screencast doesn't make animated gifs, but you can insert the videos inline .... like this

As you said Screencast Recorded is free on the other hand it is Autodesk product, so can I use this software to record any other non-Autodesk software's screen recording?
