Freezing all layers set on a certain color on xrefs

I xref a few architectural plans into my drawings. If there is info that I do not need but others might need, I change the layer in the xref to color 40. Is there a lisp/script I can write to freeze everything on color 40 in my drawing? I cannot figure it out because the layers on color 40 are set to "ByLayer" - instead of "Color 40" - along with everything else in the drawing.

Thanks in advance.

Object color and Layer color are different concept. Usually people set object to ByLayer color and change the layer color to 40 (in your case), layer name can be "Arch Freeze". Then you can freeze Layer "Arch Freeze".
