Filleting problems

Sometimes when I try to fillet two lines, they don't fillet. I end up having to extend the two lines so they intersect, then trim them to each other. Is there a setting or a way to fix this so everything will fillet?

When this happens, make sure both entities are at the same elevation.

Read the command line and see if you are getting this (or any other) message "Lines are non coplanar."

If it is a 2D drawing, just ensure OSNAPZ is set to 0.

How does that help the OP's issue? Thanks.

I just think it is part of the answer to his question  Robot tongue

Is there a setting .... so everything WILL fillet? (in the future?)

It's time the OP answered questions instead of everyone else jumping to conclusions 🙂

Is there any way to fix those that are currently non-coplanar?

I am not sure if LT can do the same thing below.

If these objects are lines only, just select them all and use Properties panel to change their "Start Z" and "End Z" value to 0.

You can use FILTER or QSELECT or the filter from top or the Properties panel to select all lines.

That did it!!! I went to properties and the "start z" and "end z" were already set to zero. So, I reset them to zero and that seemed to do the trick. Thank you all so much for your help and input!!!

Just an FYI: what you saw as zero, may have in fact not been zero depending on the precision shown in the properties palette. IOW, you may see 0.0000 and the actual elevation could be 0.0000001.

In this case, the conclusions were right 😉

Now that you mention it, I did a "list" of one of the lines and the z was .0000001. Thank you!!
