File Path Location for Blocks

Looking for a reference that shows what the default file path locations are for various AutoCAD  user files.  Specifically, I had my AutoCAD file paths changed and cannot find where my blocks are saved.  I'd like to save the blocks I create in a specific folder.  I'd sure appreciate your feedback.  Julie

Sincerely,

JamJaws31

Can't find your blocks anywhere?

 WBLOCK instead of BLOCK ?

Thanks. Must have got my BLOCK and WBLOCK mixed up? When I used WBLOCK I was able to find the block in the folder I want the blocks I create (for use outside the current drawing) to go to.

:smileyhappy:  This is the immediate solution to my problem.  Still want to know where the blocks for the "BLOCK" command are stored, but I am able to access the blocks when using the "WBLOCK" command.  Thank you.  This has resolved this issue, but would like further discussion.  Julie

Block = .dwg

You know the name of the blocks?  Use ADCENTER or Windows search, it's not that difficult.

If other things aren't working as well, a repair install should fix the built-in profiles.

Under Tools, Options select the Files tab and highlight Support File Search Path. Pick the Add button then Browse and navigate to where your block drawings are located.

Thanks for your reply I followed your instructions and did not find the temporary block I created in the folder, nor was I able to insert the temporary block I created using the browse function to the folder where the path points to. I previously did a Windows Explorer search and was not able to find the first block I created when I originally posted this issue.

Let's clear this mud for you.

Block command write the block to the drawing

Wblock command doesn't access for you to pull the block from anywhere, it writes to the folder you choose.

Thank you. I had the access the block from the folder down, but was confused this was associated with the WBLOCK rather the the BLOCK command. Appreciate the clarification! [?]
