Fields in multiline attributes

I have multiline attributes with SSM fields in my dwts. When I add a new layout to the sheet set, the fields don't update until I open the attribute editor and then open the field editor. Any way around this issue?

What version are you using?

I just tested it in 2014 (files attached) and it worked fine for me.  In this case, the "Sheet Title" (lower right corner) is multiline attribute.

P.S. I do have to do a REGEN after adding the sheet to my SSM file.

thanks for the reply... yeah, i'm on 2014.

I should clarify, our dwt has non-field attributes in it by default because alot of small jobs won't use SSM. So on a big job, we start from the template and I've added a tool button on our palettes to swap the attributes block  to a similar block with ssm fields.

So I've dicscovered that this error happens when I insert the ssm block after the fact.

Your dwg does the same thing... if you delete it and reinsert it, you'll have to open the att editor then the field editor.

Therefore, the easy answer (for me) is to make the ssm attribute block the default block and swap the other block in when needed.

Hi Randy,

When a new block is inserted or an existing block is redefined you can use ATTSYNC to update the attributes. This is expected behavior. I agree that changing the default block, as you mentioned, or even using two separate dwt files, would be the smoothest options.

Thanks 🙂
