Extra lines when using Dimensions

Hi

I am pretty new to AutoCAD still, and so far i've been able to figure out the problems I run into.

Except now.

I have a simple drawing and begin to use simple Dimensions. I plot 6 different drawings everything is fine. And then at some point what seems random my Dimension lines seem to add more lines to be more precise. But it looks very sloppy to me. How do I make sure this doesn't happen and is there a way to remove the extra lines? I have attached before and after pictures.

Are the extra lines appearing on the screen, or on the plots... or both?

Which version of AutoCAD are you using? (2013/2014/2015)

I am using 2014. And the lines appear on the drawing and on the plot.
Thanks for quick reply.

I figured it out. At least how to fix it for now.

I noticed the UCS was in 3D Mode. When I type SHADEMODE 2D it went flat again and the lines dissapeared. Hopefully I don't run into anything else. Thanks for your help!
