It's "not working" when trying to open that with AutoCAD 2004? Or which release did you try then to open that file?

Is that specific to this special file or does the same happen with a new file and just a few lines.

When you turn on PROXYNOTICE and open the original file do you get warnings about proxy-objects? If so which one?

And now a special question: what means "not working"?

Knocking a file down to an older folder makes the file larger usually, never smaller. Is that all you want to do, reduce the file size?

-EXPORTTOAUTOAD to R14 format (lowest option) usually cures problems with R2004 trying to open DWG files.
