Double Click settings

When I go into CUI & try to customize the double click for say line & set it to bring up the properties box it works, but it changes all double click actions to do that unless there is already a default double click for a particular command. When I  set the double click in the hatch command to edit the hatch (hatch box pops up) it works but it will change the line double click to do the same thing. I don't remember having this problem in 2009. I'm saving in the CUI every time I try this.

I must be doing something wrong. Any help would be great.

Thanks,

Ashby

Where exactly, specifically, are you making these edits in the CUI?
Post a screenshot if you can. And are you using 2013 or 2014?

I'm sorry I don't know how to do a screen shot. When I open CUI the "all
customization files" tab in the upper left hand corner of the box shows up
and under that there is a bunch of stuff including the double click actions
that you can expand & pick what you want. I'm using 2013. By the way off
topic when I was using 2009 it would crash many times when I opened a new
file by tagging the open icon or typing "open". 2013 has never crashed at
all.

Thanks Dean.

Tap the PRTSCRN button on your keyboard, open Windows Paint, then PASTE and you have a screenshot. Save to a PNG or JPG file before posting.

I'd like to know which "bunch of stuff" you actually seelcted and what you edited, where you edited it, and what you added. Reason is when I do it I can't replicate your issue, so one of us is not exactly doing it the same way.

I hope this works. I pick hatch & set it to hatchedit. I know what I'm doing
is right, but it will change all the double click actions that do not have a
default to do the same thing, the double click action for line will be hatch
edit. If you set double click action for line to be properties it changes
the hatchedit to be properties too. I guess that's such a bad thing as I can
edit the hatch with the properties box but I would prefer the hatch box.
Thanks again.

Ashby

I'm guessing you are not replacing the command found in the double-click under hatch, you are actually redefning QUICK PROPERTIES to HATCHEDIT command instead.

That's your mistake. Open the Command List in CUI and drag HATCHEDIT to be under the Hatch entry for double-clicking and remove QP. After you fix/put back Quick Properties definition back correctly. See attachment.

I didn't see an attachment, but that's ok. Thanks to you I figured out what
I was doing wrong. Instead of dragging the commands from the command list I
was physically typing them in, which didn't work. Everything is working now.
Thanks for your time & patience.

PenDean - I found your post today, 3 years later.

I believe  I understand the procedure to modify the double click (in my case to get full properties on a double clicked line).  I have two questions before I mess anything up:

1.  There are two 'properties' listed in the CUI I can drag.  How do I know which one to pick and drag?

2.  You mention to remove (delete) the QP after dragging the Properties under 'Line', and then to put QP definition back correctly.  What is the proper way to delete the QP and does 'put back' mean dragging QP off the list back up into the Line double click folder?

Your screen shot is good but does not answer my above questions.

Thanks for your help in the past and hopefully for this one. Harry
