Yesterday (on another computer) i created a DGNIMPORT mapping profile.
Today I copied and replaced the existing DGNSETUPS.INI file onto another computer.
opened Autocad
Cannot see the config.
did i miss something. I've looked inside the config (ini) file and don't see anything causing an issue.

I'm in need of a solution.

This does not work for Autocad 2014.
Once i make the change inside the
dgnsetups.ini
ie. change the setup name from
CPC_01 to CPC_02
then type: DGNMAPPING
its gone, completely. no longer there. Only STANDARD is still there.
All my settings still exist inside the .ini file, but now i can no longer load it into Autocad.
The only way to get it back is to re-enter all the settings for CPC_01 through the dialog interface.
It appears Autodesk has made this feature as a one way street.
Please indicate if there is anyway to:
1. Create a DGNMAPPING
2. Share the DGNMAPPING in a network environment
3. Edit the DGNSETUPS.ini file and see it reflect for all users (NETWORK option).
I really need a fix here. I have chosen to do this manually in a local environment in the mean time. Not very efficient.
Why are you editing the .ini file manually? If you need to make a copy of a DGNMAPPING, then use the DGNMAPPING tool and create a New one. Use this tool to Modify or Delete setups as well.
The "MappingSetupName=" field doesn't appear to be what you want to edit. Each setup is saved with it's own name. I created several setups and that results in [MappingSetup1]
.... bunch of line items
Name={whatever name you gave it}
Additional setups add additional MappingSetups in the ini file.
Once you have your ini file created, you can copy it wherever you want and then go into Options -> Files tab -> DGN Mapping Setups Location and then modify your path to the desired network path.
Placing the .ini file on a network drive worked just fine for me.
Following these steps, do the setups appear properly?

didn't you read my TAGLINE? (lol)
why wouldn't you be able to edit the .ini ? I've edited so many files through the backdoor. this would be the first time (not only time) in a long time that something could not be done this way.
Please test this on your end.
1. Designer only has STANDARD config
2. I have CPC_01 and CPC_02
3. I place my .ini onto network location
4. remap Designer location to network location
5. Does Designer see the 2 configs ?
6. What if i make changes to those configs through my dialog - does Designer see it, or reset to STANDARD only?
lets test.
Ok, I copied the .ini file to a network location, had my co-worker change her path to point to the network location and she could see all the mappings just fine. Any change to the .ini file by anyone should result in everyone pointing to it seeing the changes. Perhaps you have a permissions problem which is preventing the other person from reading the file and therefore a new file with the Standard mapping is being created each time the command is used. If no .ini file is found, one is created.
Here is a test file for you to use to make sure that your ini file isn't causing the problem. Copy this one to your network location (change name to .ini) and see if you both see the mappings.
I tested the option to share the DGNSETUPS.ini on a network location.
I did not edit the .ini file with a text editor. Instead i simply made the required changes through the interface.
This is working fine.
So.. to answer the first question. Yes the this is working and the process is being followed.
But, I would like Autodesk to explain why I cannot edit the .ini file with a text editor and still have it work with Autocad.
This would be a great benefit, if you had several different configurations that you used for various projects and you could copy paste in and out of the .ini file as needed.
Consider this complete for now.
