Data extraction

Hi

Please find the attached file.

How can I use data extraction to create a table containing data such that I can use it in Surfer to calculate volumes of cuts and fills?

What version or vertical "flavor" of AutoCAD was used to produce this DWG?  (As a user of "plain" AutoCAD 2013, without the original application or an enabler all I can see are Proxy objects.)

You might receive better help by posting your question in a forum focused on that specific product.

AUTOCAD 2014 was used to produce this DWG.

Hoshang, upon opening this up in Civil 3d 2014, i see AECC_CONTOUR and AECC_POINT objects, which tells me it was not created in plain ACAD, but probably an export from something else. Regardless, you will not be able to use data extraction on these types of objects. Data extraction works best with blocks.

Hi

Thanks for your reply. It's made with Autodesk Land.

In AutoCAD you can try the command: EATTEXT. From there you can choose which elements to extract and what attributes tyo be extracted. The last step you can choose what dataformat to save the extracted information (CSV, EXCELL etc.).

Hope that helps, good luck,
