To All,
I have a sort of and "Odd Shape" cone that I am trying to create in AutoCAD as a solid entity.
The best way to describe this is that is is similar in size and shape to a "volcano" however it is, or will be just a "simple" cone with an odd contour.
My approach was to use something like the cone however, as soon as I tried altering the shape things didn't work the right way,
(I'll save that problem as another discussion). I also tried using the Loft command however it seems I am not getting the true shape. Someone suggested using or creating this with the Helix but I now think we are getting away from what I am trying to create here.
Any suggestions, or should I just keep plugging away until I get what I am looking for, (refer to attachments)?
I know this was part of the original post but for some reason the attachment did not show up:
Put a 3Dmesh in the volcano and sculp it to the shape you want then turn it to a solid.
Something like this:
hello sir,
based in your illustation, the best command is LOFT, try do some experiment on the settings, (Surface control at cross section)
hope it will help.
Regards,
Virgilio E. Benedictos
I agree with Benedictos.Virgilio, the best command for this is probably the "loft" command using the "guidelines" option. I have attached a drawing showing a somewhat similar shape of your drawing using this method. The red arcs are what I used as the guidlines. Hopefully this helps.
Patchy, benedictos.virgilio, & Yorx57,
Thanks for all of your input! You all have at least pointed me in the right direction:
As suggested, I will experiment a little more since the Volcano looks more like a "Standard Shift Boot" but it's a point in the right direction. Thanks again!
Thanks
