I am in the process of specifying the specifications for a new DELL laptop computer. I use it to run the 2015 version of the Autodesk Design Suite software, specifically Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, Autodesk Architecture and Revit. I am trying to find out what the specifications are to run these software programs very efficient with minimum issues that arise when there is not enough ram, processing speed, and hardware storage space.
Can anyone out there provide some assistance to these questions.
Thank you.

Inventor and Revit are more demanding than AutoCAD, so base your specs on those. Anything that runs one of them well will also handle the others. Any reasonably modern hardware with a good CPU clock speed (~ 3 GHz, faster is better) and sufficient RAM (12 - 16 GB is a good starting point) will do. Don't forget a dedicated video card.
Find a couple of members in the Inventor and/or Revit boards who are long time posters - many of them will also post their current hardware specs. Thats a good starting point.
