change of my shx file icon image back to default one

Hi

Is there a solution for this. Please see below.

I tried to open shx file through txt editor. Later, I realised that shx file can't be opened as it is compiled file. I see all other shx file icons image changed to notepad icon image. How can I change the icon image back to original?

Thank you

VR

My icon for my fonts are coming in as adobe.  I changed to AutoCAD and now they are a shortcut to opening AutoCAD.  how do i get the shx file icon back to the default.  this is happening outside of AutoCAD, in windows explorer.

You will need to reinstall AutoCAD (or install the free viewer) to fix the problem if doing this http://www.online-tech-tips.com/computer-tips/change-file-icon/ or assigning shx to something neutral like NotePad is too much to bear.

Hi, to change the icon back to the default, simply go to the Window Setting: Apps: Default apps: click on Reset button. To open the Window Setting, right click anywhere on the display screen and choose either Display setting or Personalize, then click on the Home button on the top left corner. -C
