Best way to convert 3d DWG into 2d flat DWG

I've been receiving the converted 3d DWG files from my subs (creatd in CadMech mostly).

I want to know what's the best way to convert them into true 2d FLAT dwg?

I tried to use the commaned "FLATTEN" and found no success.

Thanks in advance,

Davdi

What is in the file?

Solids?

Surfaces?

Wireframe?

More information is needed, can you attach an example file here?

It's a solid. See attached.

Unfortunatelly there is no attachment in your post 😞

But anyway, if 3D objects are Solids, than you can try to useFLATSHOT command.

Or you can use VIEWBASE command to create 2D views in Layout, then use EXPORTLAYOUT command to save 2D representation of Layout to separate DWG.

Or you can PLOT to DXB file, then import DXB in new drawing:

The last method works not only with solids, but with all 3D data.

Sorry, here is the attached file.

Basically, this is my setup.

My master file has all of the 3d dwg files XREF to it from different trades.

I want to "flatten" all of the 3d dwg files at once.  I'm curious if the flatshot works for XREF as well?

Or do I have to BIND the XREF before doing the flatshot?

Thanks in advance.

But you did not send XREFs...
Moreover, all data in DWG you sent is AutoCAD MEP objects and I don't have MEP object enabler at hand, so I can not see anything in your file 😞

Yes, you can FLATSHOT 3D Solids from XREFs without binding them to master DWG

Thanks a lot for the suggestion.

I'll give it a try.

EXPORTLAYOUT worked a treat for getting a 3D detail shown as a 2D layout for AutoCAD LT.

Thanks

EXPORTLAYOUT command doesn't work.

After it's done, when I look at the drawing in 3d view, it's still shown as a 3d model, NOT 2d lines.

I want a 3d model to be converted to 2d lines.  Even though it looks the same in the plan view, but the file size is a lot smaller for the 2d type of tasks.
