beginners question..

hi all,

I am absolute beginner to Autocad, so please forgive me...

I used to add a length to a line by creating the line start point and hitting back space to enter the length.  When I hit backspace now, it does not give me the option to enter the length.

Do you what setting I changed by accident?

Thanks!

Welcome to the Autodesk forums.

I'm not sure I understand your process.  If you only started the LINE command, then picked a start point, then <backspace> then typed a length, how did AutoCAD know which direction the line should go?

Sounds like you might have turned dynamic input off, try F12 or the dynamic input icon at the bottom left of your screen, by the way you don't need to hit backspace, just typing a value when dynamic input is on is enough to lengthen a line
