AutoCAD to Rhino (and general surface problems)

First off, please forgive me, I am completely new to AutoCAD as a student who has only recently downloaded the trial version and has no other experience with CAD programs. I, however, aim to learn.

Anyhow, my current problem is rather simple yet the solution eludes me. I have a planar surface in AutoCAD made from a curve imported from Excel and straight lines. However, for the project that I have, I need to ship the file over to a peer who uses Rhino. Whenever my friend opens the file in any of the formats I've tried (every year of dxf as well as dwg) all he sees in Rhino is straight lines, regardless of the perspective. I downloaded the evaluation copy of Rhino to experiment and found the same result, which I'm guessing is also how blank files are displayed.

Does anybody have any suggestions for this?

Your main drawing is so tiny and on the right of it there are 2 gigantic lines.

After erase the lines I opened it with rhino and autocad without a problem.

Attach your drawing here. Let's see.

You should post the drawing that you have and I'll try to open it in Rhino and see what I get. Simply put the drawing up and I'll take a shot at it.

I can't believe such a simple problem and solution escaped me. Thanks a ton!
