Autocad starting problem

I'm having startup problems with my autocad program v 2013

When I click the shortcut, a picture appears which I believe some refer to as splash screen.

After that nothing else happens, the picture goes away and that's all.

I'm no computer genius and I barley know how to use one correctly so please bare with me if I ask questions for the simplest things.

My laptop is an Acer M series with an Intel core I5 and Windows 8.1

Thanks in advance,

Albert.

Dumb question: did you try turning off your laptop, restarting it, unplugging it from the Internet/wifi and trying 2014 again?

Hello again,
I tried this method but without any luck.
I turned the laptop off completely and turned it back on.

The Flexnet license file may have become corrupt,  Try deleting/renaming the license file, which will cause AutoCAD to ask you to re-register on startup and re-create the file.  (you'll need your product key to re-register)

From the Knowledge base  -->  AutoCAD splash screen starts up then closes
