AutoCAD slow

When I am in AutoCAD almost every command I do may computer has to sit there and think for 20-30 seconds before it actually executes the command.  Would this have anything to do with our company server?  There are other coworkers that would have the same problem too but not as often as I would have the issue.  I think our server is running 2003.

What are the PCs specs that you are running AutoCAD on? adn Windows version?

WinServer2003 is not a supported OS to run the application and it's the worst OS to try and do work in with AutoCAD as it tries to manage your office's server/network/ email needs, if that is what you meant by your light post above.

Eash AutoCAD is on their own computer.  It is not on the server.  I have attached my pc specs.

Good systems: are the problems in certain files only, or in all files?

What if you start a new file, commands are just as slow?

It is pretty much every file.  Not sure on a new file.  Currently it is not doing it to mine but another coworkers started doing it.

"...started doing it..."

So it's not constant and all the time, this is a recent observation (or sporadic)?

Well it has been pretty constant for quite a while now.

You might give this a shot. The article is old and "Filemon" has been replaced by "ProcessMonitor", but the idea is the same. Let this tool monitor all file/registry activity while your AutoCAD is "sitting and thinking 20-30 seconds". There will have to be a clue in there as to what is going on.

Also check your annotation scales, if you are not controlling them they tend to accumulate.

Any third-pary applications and/or vertical products in use?  Referenced images?
