AutoCAD LT for planning permission

Hello, my copy of AutoCAD LT 2013 arrived in the post this morning. The last time I used AutoCAD was several years ago.

I'd like to submit my own planning permission drawings (UK). This means that I'll be making a 1:1250 location plan, and 1:100 exisiting and proposed elevation drawings and floor/ roof plans.

Is there a tutotial book about basic 2D architectural plans for planning permission purposes?

The first thing I would like to find out to do is to draw the proposed structure's location and scaled size on the 1:1250 location plan.

Thank you.

I would recommend contacting your local authorty planning team, they will be happy to advise you the content and detail needed which initially should only be needed for an outline application.  If you are using OS Sitemap (DXF) as your 1:1250 background then this is a 1:1 scale so 1 metre on the ground is 1 unit in AutoCAD.
