AutoCad Count # Of Objects For Field

Suppose I have 10 objects named "ASquare". I want a field, or table cell to show the number 10.

If I Insert another one of these objects, I would like the field to automatically update to 11.

So far, the closest I have got is using ATTEXT with a counter variable and just looking for the highest one. You can also use Quick Select to count the objects....either way, they both take kind of long and are tedious 😞

Is there a formula or expression I can use? Thanks so much!

BCOUNT?

Otherwise you may end at using some lisp codes to create variables to represent the block count and then link the FIELD to these varialbes.

You found the built in "easy" fixes: beyond that you should ask for help in the Customization Forums on how to write your own custom code if you can't find an app for it in the Autodesk Exchange Apps website or through. Google Search.

Hi,

Have you tried dataextraction?

for example http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=dataextraction
