Autocad civil 3d to autocad points help

i am unable to bring in a survery from AUTOCAD CIVIL 3D to regular AUTOCAD.  the file I am trying to bring is is an ASCE/ ASC/ AECC file.  Cad brings the file in as a a bunch of squares or not as all or as a ton of ramdom points without any information and in the wrong visual mapping(?).

Or is there a product that can merge the two softwares together?

Plain AutoCAD needs the C3D Object Enabler to be installed. And/or you might have to "export to AutoCAD" from C3D.

But.. AutoCAD is not C3D.

Download and install the appropriate object enabler for AutoCAD.

Your post could be interpreted a couple of ways.

One is that you are trying to open a Civil3D DWG file inside plain AutoCAD and the object enabler comments apply.

If you have access to Civil3D, open the drawing inside it and use the ExportToAutoCAD options.  While the results are not ideal they should at least look like the drawing did in C3D.

Another interpretation is that you only have an ASCii file of points exported from Civil3D.  In that case stock AutoCAD won't have a tool to properly import your points.  You may be able to use an ascii editor and turn the contents into a script file, or consider an add-on package like MapWorks Points.
