autocad becomes hang when MAPIINSERT command given in autocad 2006

please give me reason and solution for that

"when i give command MAPIINSERT then my autocad becomes hang for a long time"

First this is the AutoCAd 2013,2014,2015 forums for questions on those versions not 2006 versions.

Second Mapiinsert is a AutoCAD Map3D command not a vanilla (plain) AutoCAD command.

So first are you using AutoCAD MAP3D, and if so you may want to ask in its forum .

Also what are the specs to your workstation and the paths to the images?
