Autocad 2015 system requirements

I am buying a new laptop for mechanical engineering and I'm unsure of the system requirements. The laptop I'm thinking of buying is the Asus TP300LA with an intel core i5-4210u prcoessor and with 6GB of RAM. Is this siffucient to run 2D and 3D drawings? I've googled this myself but I'm fairly new to the technical side of computers so I figured I should get the opinion of someone who knows what they're talking about. Thanks in advance

Hello

Welcome to the Autodesk/AutoCAD Forums !

1) Please try to buy the fastest processor you can ! ... The Core i5 (4 cores) is OK ... A fast ONE please !

2) You plan 2D and 3D DWGs so I estimate that 8 Gb is a "minimum" !

For Medium/Large 3D DWGs, you need to have 12/16 Gb ...

3) A good graphic card with its own memory (1 or 2 Gb), could be expensive ...

4) A fast SSD Hard Disk if possible !?

6GB Ram is inadequate for a new PC. 8G minimum, 12G better, 16G is the best starting point.
i5 need to have a clock speed close to 3Ghz (not a 1.6G with a fake-boost to 3Ghz).
HardDrive needs to be 7200rpm speed or an SSD (256Gig minimum in size).

Ideally nothing smaller than a 15.6" display, 14" if you like to squint or zoom/pan a lot.
