AutoCAd 2015 New Tab

Hi.

Is there some way to remove the "Get More Templates Online"? We have the templates we need already so we dont want our users to download other templates. Is the any way to customize the new tab?

If you can't teach the staff to use the TEMPLATES pulldown to get company templates then turn that new startup off and go back to the old one: it's not open to user edits.

STARTUP variable, set it to 1 or 0.

The New tab can be quite handy; I would not suggest turning it off only to avoid having this option available to your users. The users can easily turn it back on anyway.

Like everytjing else in AutoCAD, I'll reiterate Dean's response, it's about training. Have a session when you roll out the software, show the new features, and explain the New tab functionality; what to do and what not to do.

Hey.

I have used AutoCAD since version 2.18. In any year, Autodesk delivered AutoCAD that was easy to customize. Programming in LISP, VLSIP, VBA, ARX, opportunities to create custom menus, linetypes, hatches etc. I think this has been one of the reasons for AutoCAD popularity. Therefore, it amazes us that new things in the software are more locked up than we are used to.

We have 1200 users in our company so I hope you realize that the education of so many is not as easy. The best thing for us CAD Managers is to customize the software so it fits our needs. I think Autodesk should listen more to those that struggles every day to please the users. And yes, we can turn off the new functionality, but what do we have left for the subscription cost we pay so much for?

Not everything in AutoCAD is open to user modification, including startups: never has been true, still isn't.

i have managed to switch my new tab off.

i like the fact of having all these options , how can i get it back ??
