Forgive me if this has been addressed. I did a forum search for "acadres.dll", but there were no results.
I have a new 64-bit computer running Windows 8.1 Pro.
I have installed Autodesk Autocad 2015, Autodesk Recap, and Autodesk 360 from an install CD using the 64-bit install CD.
All loaded correctly except Autocad 2015. To attempt to launch "acad.exe", I must navigate to the folder C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2015 and mouse clip on the filename. There is no desktop icon and the program does not appear in Apps. Only something called Content Service - Configuration Console.
When I mouse click on "acad.exe", I get an error message stating Problem loading acadres.dll . A search of the PC files turns up no file by this name.
Has anyone else encountered this? Would it be safe to uninstall only Autocad 2015 and do a re-install?
Hi,
An uninstall/reinstall of AutoCAD 2015 is definitely the thing to do at this point. Sounds like something went wrong with the first install. It should be safe to just uninstall AutoCAD and leave the other software installed. If for some reason it won't uninstall successfully through Control Panel you can use the Microsoft Fix-it tool to uninstall it.

Microsoft very nicely moved the fix it page. You can get it here now:

IF I have Win 10, It is impossible to find this Fixit tool. What can I do now? Does it exist any way how to fix it manually ? Thx. Petr Svarc
Sorry I have autocad 2016 students and this version is supported by WIN10
I did it, but without any positive result. This library is still unanaivalble.Thx inadvance for your help or some recommendation.
Did you solve the problem? I have the same, Autocad 2016 student versione and Win10. What can I do?
Hi,
>> I have the same
Sorry, OP is asking for 2015, you are asking for 2016.
OP had the installation from CD (which I don't think that AutoCAD 2015 was ever shipped on a CD), but where did you install from?
Please let us know more (exact) details about what you have to install, if the install-LOG shows errors, and as Dean suggested, if you have installed service pack 1.
Then we know the facts to continue...

Hi,

Ok, uninstall it using Windows control panel ==> programs and features ==> select the AutoCAD 2016-item ==> uninstall.
Then download AutoCAD from Autodesk Virtual Agent (>>>click<<< ==> Downloads)
Next create a new user on your system, give that user admin permissions, login with that account, turn off antivirus software and start the installer from the downloaded files.
Good luck, - alfred -
