AutoCAD 2015 Failed Installation

Hi,

I am about to try training up on Autocad 2015.

I have tried, and so far failed, to install for the first time on a laptop,

for which the main system info is:

Windows 7 Home Premium

Version 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601

System Type x64-based PC laptop

Processor Intel Core i3 CPU M 330 @ 2.13GHz, 2133 Mhz, 2 Cores, 4 Logical Processors

BIOS Version/Date TOSHIBA 2.30, 24/11/2011

SMBIOS Version 2.6

Windows Directory C:\Windows

System Directory C:\Windows\system32

Boot Device \Device\HarddiskVolume1

Locale United Kingdom

Hardware Abstraction Layer Version = "6.1.7601.17514"

User Name Admin-PC\Admin

Time Zone GMT Daylight Time

RAM 4.00 GB

Total Physical Memory 3.86 GB

Available Physical Memory 2.38 GB

Total Virtual Memory 7.72 GB

Available Virtual Memory 6.20 GB

Page File Space 3.86 GB

Page File C:\pagefile.sys

I'm aware that I may well have to upgrade this system once I begin to make fuller use of the software, but this post is purely about a failed install.

The onyr error code given in addition to the apparently common, and not very informative error code of 1603, is 1619 ... also not that useful as it apparently just tells me what I knew already ... that the installation failed.

The full log, in case someone can spot something I have missed, is pasted at the end of this message.

Due to very slow data transfer speeds where the computer is located,

it was necessary to download onto a USB drive and then copy to the hard drive before extracting.

I'm wondering if this could be causing problems.

The final installation report window, which lists the various components, shows Autocad 2015 as having failed, but nothing is marked against all the other components.

Is this because they are all within the "Autocad 2015" at the top of the list maybe? (and have therefore also failed to install)

(The computer is a used & refurbished one. As a result I cannot yet get screen shots saved ........)

Any advice that does not include messing about with the computers registry would be very much appreciated!

Thanks for reading (:-)

What was your file download size?

AutoCAD Download.PNG

Did you temporarily disable UAC and anti-virus during the install?

Hi thanks for the speedy response!
The application on the USB is properties marked up as being 1.6 gig.
There's a 32 bit folder which is about 3 gig but I don't think that is
being used in the install.
(A previous issue was trying to put a 32 bit version onto this 64 bit
system)
Antivirus not disabled (good point. It's been about six or seven years
since my last installation of anything so this had slipped my mind.
Will try that ... unless you think the file size is an issue?
Thanks again.
Much appreciated.

The installation package was moved from the install location, which is not supported.

I have disabled my fairewall and anitvirus and whatever could be up and i still get and error. I also changed my UAC. what else could it be? Thnak you

Welcome to the Autodesk User's Community..

You should never change the subject of an existing posting.   In addition I have no clue what you're even asking or trying to find out with your posting..   Can you clarify?
