AutoCAD 2015 crashes Windows 8.1 on Startup

Just a few hours ago, I could use AutoCAD, but suddenly my entire system freezes when I try to open AutoCAD. I lose my mouse, keyboard, touchscreen - everything. The only way out is the power button. I have never seen a software failure as complete and unforgiving as this one. I have no idea what to do except not use AutoCAD, but I need it or I wouldn't be here.

I have AutoCAD 2015 installed on a Lenovo Yoga Pro 2 with Windows 8.1.

Windows Updates install today? I noticed a bunch listed this morning here.
Or what else changed? something did, a Windows System Restore back to a day it all worked may help.

if your whole system is freezing it could be hardware related

have you looked into that?
