AutoCAD 2014 LT and Win 8 -- really LAG

Hi All,

I just purchase a new PC with below spec

Intel i5, 8G RAM, ATI HD 6450 Display card, Asus B75 Motherboard, Windows 8 Pro /w lastest updated.

When open a new file and draw a line or circle.... simple action. The response is really slow.

If open other dwg (2013 or 2012), it nearly no response.

Anyone have idea for me?

I suspect that this is related to graphic card. Have you tried to turn off graphic acceleration?

Type GRAPHICSCONFIG in command line and disable hardware acceleration at the top of the dialog box. Disabling hardware acceleration is more stable, but slower if you work with complex 3D model.

Here are also some tiips to free some computer resources, so the performance could be better:

1. Optimize the computer system.

2. Optimize AutoCAD settings.

If this post solves your problem, please mark it as solved. It will help others with a similar problem to find a solution.

Kind regards,

In addition to Edwin's advice.....

Make sure all the buttons in the status bar are OFF.

Some of those, when enabled, can slow down everything considerably.

So this is happening in a new, empty drawing?

Does it happen if you log on as a new user, and run AutoCAD LT for the first time as the new user?

Thx both,

the problem has been fixed.

in additional, rename AecCore.crx that can solve "lag of open multiplue files issue"

Thx so much

I actually ended up doing the exact opposite. My autocad was lagging too after the windows update, so I followed your instructions. Hardware acceleration was already disables though. I turned it on, and it was as good as new! Thanks for the guidance! The windows update must have somehow disabled it.
