AutoCad 2014 freezes when unlocking computer

If autocad is running when I unlock my computer it will freeze. It still lets me close out and save my work, but I am unable to do anything else in the program. Sometimes it will crash my video driver recover then allow me to continue working.

Try checking for a newer (different) video driver and/or switch to a Windows Classic theme (non Aero theme)

this is the problem or it could be the graphics card itself

try different graphics card drivers like stated above

I have upgraded my graphics driver already. I have had 2014 for some time now and no driver update has helped. There was no problem when I had autocad 2013.

2014 is not 2013.

Turn off Win7's Aero theme and ensure 2014 is fully updated: if that doesn't help then confirm 2014 is actually frozen and not just taking a longer time to wake up (a resource monitor comes in handy for this time of review).

I disabled aero theme and the problem remained. Autocad is fully up to date.

I have not tried that yet. I will try it later on today and let you know.

I have had this problem also.  I found that when it it "Frozen" there is a message window in the background that says the Hardware Acceleration was going to be turned off.  When I clicked OK to this. I was able to continue working with no problems.  I tried the same things that you have, but nothing worked, but I haven't had that problem in a while.
