Autocad 2014 - Fatal error on etransmit

Hi,

Everytime I try to use the etransmit command, i get fatal error. This didn't happen with the previous version of autocad, it only started happening once I installed v14.

Ever happened to you?

Thanks

Until a fix is issued by Autodesk, here's a workaround that has so far worked for us when the 2014 Civil 3D OE is installed. Close AutoCAD, if open. Go into the folder C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2014 and rename the file "AeccETransmit.dbx" to "AeccETransmit.dbx.old". Please note that you may need admin rights in order to accomplish this change since the file resides in a program folder. Once renamed, open AutoCAD and give Etransmit another try.

As with any change to a file, please test to make sure all is working as expected. We tried AutoCAD 2014 SP1 before making this change, but as others have discovered it did not resolve the issue. This is not a fix posted by Autodesk, so please test as needed.

I just tried the above with no luck. Still crashing on Etransmit in Map 2014-

Here is the workaround that I have found:

  1. install autocad 2014
  2. install C3d object enabler
  3. type APPLOAD at comand line
  4. click "contents" under startup suite
  5. click "add"
  6. add the following files to startup suite:

aeccivilbase.dbx

aeccland.dbx

aeccmapcheck.dbx

aeccnetwork.dbx

aeccparampart.dbx

aeccplanprod.dbx

aeccpointcloud.dbx

aeccpressurepipes.dbx

Maybe this will work for others.

Thanks, this was a real stumbling block towards using 2014 here.

FYI, I added the following lines to my acad.lsp.  Seems to be working smoothly.

(arxload "aeccivilbase.dbx")
(arxload "aeccland.dbx")
(arxload "aeccmapcheck.dbx")
(arxload "aeccnetwork.dbx")
(arxload "aeccparampart.dbx")
(arxload "aeccplanprod.dbx")
(arxload "aeccpointcloud.dbx")
(arxload "aeccpressurepipes.dbx")

The other option (renaming the arx file) also worked, but would be more difficult to implement office wide.

Looks like an updated Civil 3D Object Enabler for AutoCAD 2014 has been released which will hopefully resolve this issue once and for all. http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=21825057&linkID=9240618

Has anybody tested and confirmed?  It would be nice if the latest file had version notes indicating that it resolved that specific issue, before I start burning hours just to find out it isn't a new version and doesn't solve anything, and then end up having to uninstall and reinstall my entire ACAD 2014 again.  I guess I am saying that at this point in the experience I am lacking a ceretain level of trust. For this expensive of a software product, I think the support on this has been dismal, and I may as well get a competitor's product if that is the best they can do.

I plan on testing today and will post my results.

I'm going to wait to see if anyone says that the new OE works. My workaround has the problem fixed for now and I don't want to break it.

You might want to hold off on the Autodesk fix.  Looks like it crashed my ACAD 2014 and now I have to reinstall it. "Repair" failed.  I should have heeded the fact that when installing the fix it indicated that it was "untested"!!!  Wonderfull.  .  .

Used 2013 to publish a project that had to go out.

It's time to go back to 2013 until 2014 is stable.

Lesson learned many versions back - NEVER EVER remove the "olde" version!

Odd. On first tests in AutoCAD Architecture (32bit and 64bit) with sp1
installed it seems to work well.

Will be able to test on vanilla AutoCAD next week and will post results.

Read the earlier posts in this thread for a solid workaround.

I would ask for a show of hands from those who want their $5,000 software to work without a workaround, but I would hate to flood the thread.

When we try to run the etransmit command using AutoCAD 2014LT on one of our HP 420 Windows 7 64bit machines it crashes without fail. I have added the service pack and the Graphics hotfix. It still does not work.

Has anyone had a good testing of this new OE yet?

Yeah.

I have it on AutoCAD architecture and vanilla AutoCAD and it seems to
resolve the issue.

Read earlier in the post for a solid workaround if it does not work for you
though.
