AutoCAD 2014 Command Line

I recently updated AutoCAD from 2013 to 2014. In 2014 I do not have my command line docked but it is placed on the bottom edge of the drawing screen. When AutoCAD is closed and reopened again the location of the command line jumps to the middle of the screen. This also happens when I use the Plot command or whenever all the drawings are closed but AutoCAD is still open. Even after saving the workspace it does not save where I have placed the command line.

The picture attached shows the default location for the command line. No matter how many times I move the command line it always opens there.

Is there a specific way to lock the placement of the command line on the screen and save it for whenever I reopen AutoCAD? I beleive I have looked through all the options and settings and I am still not seeing anything to do so.

Thank you

Mine stays put in 2014 when docked, haven't tried undocked.

Is sys. var. LOCKUI set to zero?

I have tried setting it as 0 and saving my workspace and I have also tried setting it to 1 and saving the workspace again. Neither works though.

Use 15  Sum of all.

(but I thought WORKSPACE is what controls the position of the command line)

Stupid question time: are you actually using the workspace you are saving?

If I use Workspace Settings dialog (wssettings command) and check-mark "Automatically Save Workspace Changes" then floating Command line stays in the position I put it permanently.

If I set LOCKUI to 15 it locks the command line in the middle of the screen when I start up AutoCAD again.

My Workspace is blank because it is saved as my name

Name of the WS you saved as?

Doesn't look like you use the saved one.

I blanked it out on the screen shot. I am using my personal workspace.

You updated 2013 to 2014 with migration or you installed as brand new ?

I have a workspace I migrated from 2013 but since then I have created a new workspace file.

I've seen this before and I believe your Command line is technically "docked left". which will cause it to re-center on the left edge everytime you re-enter the workspace.   Pull it away from the left edge and.or change it's status in the CUI to "floating"

That worked, you were right. I had my palletes docked on the left edge so it was docking to the edge of the pallets.
Thank you so much!
