AutoCAD 2013 Fatal Error

Hi,

One of our users is experiencing an issue in AutoCAD 2013 but unfortunately i cannot find anything on the Interent regarding it 😞

"FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0744 Exception at 3098a083h"

Has anybody experienced this before or know where you can troubleshoot these kinds of issues? The error seems to happen when the user is trying to hatch.

FYI, We are using AutoCAD 2013 (64 Bit) SP2 applied and all recent hotfixes since SP2 was released.

Regards,

Duncan

What is the user doing when the fatal error occurs?

Is this only happening in one drawing or any drawing?

Did the user get an option to send in an error report to Autodesk and if so what is the email address so I can look up the error report (if you don't mind sharing that information)

Sometimes a fatal error can occur because of corruption in a drawing. If the problem is drawing specific, you should run RECOVER from a blank drawing and select the problem drawing so the tool can try to fix any errors in the file.

It's happening in multiple drawings and on at least 5 different machines. Previously only 2 were affected and all are associated with hatching.

Will send you the email address privately if thats ok?

Duncan

Update!

After investigating a little further, we could get round the issue experienced by changing the "HPDLGMODE" to 1 instead of 2 on the problematic drawings. Looks like the Ribbons default value of "Pick Points" instead of "Select Object" could be related as the old Hatch dialog worked fine and avoided the issue experienced.

I beleive this could be fixed in 2014 but we have no plans to upgrade until the next DWG format change.
