auto cad 2013 educational download

I just downloaded the 2013 version and it doesn't work.  I then read it wasn't supported by windows 8.1, this is what i have.  Is there any one who might be able to guide me through a fix of some sort.

"does not work" ... means what?

It is correct that 2013 is not supported on Win8.1, but a lot of people have it installed (me too), so let us know what you see so we know what exactly happend on your system.

On the other hand: if you are student you have the choice to install the current version of AutoCAD (2015), why do you like to use an old version when you can have the current one?

I have a hand for my pointer and it doesnt allow me to click on anything.  our training is on2013.  after i downloaded it i read that i should've turned my anti virus software off.  Come to find out, I didn't prepare for the download as i should've.
