Started AutoCAD this morning, finished up a drawing, saved it, went to open another drawing that was created in 2013 and recieved a "FATAL ERROR: out of memory - shutting down"
Now every time I try to start AutoCad, I recieve this error during the loading process (while the splash screen is still showing). I have tried restarting (and shutting down) the computer and still am getting this error! So right now, simply by trying to open a previous drawing, my AutoCad has become 100% useless!!!!!! Really getting annoyed with Autodesk and this crap software!!!
Let me guess - the only fix for this is probably a re-install ??? ![]()

Solved! by Yorx57. See the answer in context.
First off, thank you all for your suggestions and help.
After the re-install didn't work this morning, I contacted my distributer. After talking with them, it came up that I don't use an admin account (I always forget this because I never use the admin account unless needed). Anyways, logging into the admin account (or right clicking the desktop icon and selecting "run as admin") worked. So they suggested that I do a profile rebuild. I was not too keen on this, so as a last ditch effort, I decided to try the "reset settings to default" option - and that worked!
So for now, I'm back on my 2013! ![]()
I doubt any of your active software, AutoCAD or MSOffice or Photoshop etc., are the reason your system is shutting down due to system memory issues. If it was working Friday it should be working today.
Do you have an I.T. person to talk to? Or are you a standalone one-man shop?
System details?
How much free Harddisk space do you have?
What size Windows Swap file are you using?
Windows OS? 32bit or 64bit?
What changed on your system over the weekend? Something did, "nothing" is not correct.
See if any of these are of help as well:

As I said, it was working this morning! I finished a drawing up, saved it, closed the drawing, went to open up another drawing that I needed to work on and recieved the error! So yes - NOTHING HAS CHANGED !!
Also, I have had to revert back to my 2012 so that I could actually WORK today! That is running fine, so I would have to say that it is highly probable NOT a physical memory issue OR a swap file issue OR a free space issue! However, here are the specs:
Win 7 64bit
Disk Space: 71.8 G Free
definitely enough free disk space ....
Memory:
(This is with AutoCAD 2012, Google Chrome, and the System Information prog all running)
Available Physical: 5.74 G
Available Virtual: 13.9 G
Page File Space: 7.96 G
So definitely enough memory .....
I'm off to check out the links you sent me ......
[EDIT]
I've looked at the links you have sent - however the problem I'm having is not during editing, it's during AutoCad LOADING - it does not get past the splash screen before throwing the error.
Try a Repair before doing an unistall-reinstall. Also check Windows Uodate for any patches to dotNet frameworks that have not been applied
Checked my Windows update - everything is fully updated for the Dot Net. Also did a repair first thing this morning which went through sucessufully. 2013 still will NOT load.
I uninstalled 2013 through the control panel, re-installed it - and I'm STILL getting the error! So as of right now, even uninstalling and re-installing is NOT working!!! ![]()
Autodesk recommended uninstall and reinstall procedures are more elaborate than that:

I would eventually take the extra steps of removing all .NET installations as well, restarting the PC, and only installing the ones your various programs do. But first, after you remove and reinstall the 'proper' way and you still have startup issues I would recommend you seek Autodesk help either through Subscription or Installation Help from Autodesk:

I am having the same problem. very offen i get this message "AUTOCAD is running out of system memory" and takes me out of the software. I have to open again the file and some times I lost information. what i can do?
deleting temp files from c:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\AutoCA
I had uninstalled and reinstalled several times. tried repairing etc.
delteing the files in the temp folder worked liked magic.
