This is the third time in the past week I've had this problem.
We are making a transition from Civil 3D 2011 to 2015, and I've been working on a pilot project to test the upgrade on.
I was working on something a few days ago, and suddenly my computer started to come to a crawling stop. When I checked the processes in the task manager, I saw one called AdSyncWorker.exe that had somehow balooned up to 12GB and no matter what I did, I couldn't end it. I eventually had to close Autocad, and after a few minutes, end the remaining ACAD process, and then wait another few minutes for the AdSuncWorker to finally close.
The same thing happened yesterday, and while trying to figure out how to stop it, I closed the Autodesk Sync, and disabled it inside autocad.
This morning I started up 2015 and within 15 minutes I was already having problems. I disabled all online options within autocad and still had not luck in this process closing without closing autocad and then ending the task. Ending the task tree won't work, as the AdSyncWorker won't let it close.
Has anyone else run into this problem? Does anyone know the direct cause?
AdSyncWorker.exe is a programs that could be found in this location. C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Autodesk Sync
Can you uninstall and reinstall Autodesk 360 and see if that helps? After that see if you can sign in, adjust the setting then restart Civil 3D. Also if you go to MSCONFIG see if you can disable that service from startup tab.

Hi AdammReilly,
Thank you for reporting the issue, we are sorry to hear about that. AdSyncWorker.exe is a part of Autodesk 360 desktop, it only runs after you sending data to Autodesk 360 drive. So it could be saving a file in AutoCAD, drag and drop a AutoCAD file or copy & past a AutoCAD file to Autodesk 360 drive.
If you want us to help you find the root cause, please leave your eMAIL.
Thanks,
Terry

This is becoming a HUGE issue. I just changed workstations, to a laptop, and AdSyncWorker is eating all my RAM! I will be working in Civil3D 2015 with no issues when the computer fan will kick on and the RAM gets chewed up. All of it. I have to exit Civil3D and open task manager and close the process. I have turned on off the "Load Autocad 360 on login" feature and this still happening. All the sync boxes are unchecked in the Civil3D. Why does this keep starting up? It is also automatically copying files that I work on to the A360 folder for sharing...though I have not set anything up for sharing. Please help.
Thanks,

Do you always login in to your products with you Autodesk ID?
There is an option on the Online Tab in Civil 3D 2015 that enables automatic sync, have you turned this off? Also, there is another option to Sync your settings with the cloud, turn this off.
The same settings will apply in all your Autodesk products and if you login automatically, if any of them are turned on then it will auto sync.

I am having this problem as well, using AutoCAD MEP 2015. I don't want to think out of the box here... but this is obviously a problem with multiple users who pay around $20k per license seat. How about fixing the memory leak, rather than just telling users how to disable the feature?
Hi,
Can you please provide Version of A360 Destop (Autodesk 360) that you are using?
You can find A360 Desktop Version details from "Preferences" dialog:
If A360 Desktop (Autodesk 360) Version is less than 6.0.5.1100, then please update A360 Desktop application.
You can get latest version of A360 Desktop from http://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/a360/downloads/caas/downloads/content/autodesk-360-desktop-dow...
Latest version of A360 Desktop contains bug-fixes so you may notice improvement in performance.
I am using the same version...
Version 5.2.3.1000 Is what is currently loaded.
@cfiorica you can download the newest version from this link:
Not sure if it will fix anything... I am running that version and my adsyncworker.exe balloons up to 34gb of system ram out of the 36gb total.
Yikes! I don't even bother with it anymore. I don't utilize that function and thus have turned it off. I will turn it back on when/if I need it. Otherwise it will destroy any productivity.
Hi,
Based on your description, we are guessing that the memory leak probably was caused by a specific drawing, because AdsyncWorking only starts once you copy or update a file in A360 drive. One thing that you can help us is that update your files one by one and keep monitoring your memory status. If your memory usage continually increases after updating a specific file, please let us know.
Thanks,

Thanks for the reply Terry. Unfortunately I was not intending for ANYTHING to sync, it was automatically syncing files and I am not even sure how it determined that they need syncing.
I may try to turn it on and see whay file it is syncing when I have some time to troubleshoot.
