3D ZOOM

I am fairly new to working in 3d but when I zoom in beyond a certain point in a drawing everything disappears. I am using Autocad 2014 and my computer is a Dell Precision T7500 with a NVIDIA Quadro FX4800 display card, driver #9.18.13.2049. Do I need to upgrad the display card or is there a setting that I should change? Any help is appreciated.

First, let's make sure we are using the same definition of "zoom in".

 http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/AutoCAD-2007-2008-2009/Everything-disappears-when-I-quot-Zoom-Extents-...

I assume if you do a zoom all you can see the model, correct?

I assume what you are describing now is the opposite of the problem you posted in above thread, correct?

Can you attach the *.dwg file here?

(Also for clarity - prefer to call the 3D a model, solid or assembly - not a drawing.  for me a drawing is 2D in paperspace layout.)

I will occasionally have that issue while zooming into my "model".

Do a REGENALL, and everything will reappear.  Then continue to "zoom-in".

At least, that is the fix that works for me.

The .dwg is attached along with two .pdf screen captures. When I zoom closer than what is shown in Zoom-1, you can see what happens in Zoom-2.

I tried the "regenall" as suggested but that made no difference.

I believe you have perspective on.  Doing this (essentially) turns zoom into a camera move.  In parallel view mode you can zoom infinitely without getting closer to the objects.  When perspective is turned on the camera moves closer to the objects and,at some point, into them.  Type in 'perspective' and change the setting to 0.

+1 w/ Peter ... also, you may want to investigate CLIPPING PLANEs  for the camera if you want to use persp views.
