With the 2015 SP2 it is great to have the Ctrl+Drag tab copy functionality back, but now the layout tab location stability is broken. What happens is that at various times drawing tabs will get moved to the end of the row. I don't usually notice the error has occurred until I have been in the drawing a while so I have not been able to pin down a trigger if that is possible. This morning I opened two drawings, one the error occurred in and one it didn't. The one the error occurred in has five layout tabs and the third tab was active at the last save and close. When it was loading the active tab appeared first then the when the remaining tabs loaded the tab following the active tab (4th tab) was moved to the end location. I usually notice the first tab is moved to the end but that may be because the model tab is active much of the time.
There is no point in filing a subscription request until the problem or trigger is better identified so if you notice this behavior after a SP2 install please take note to see when it happens and post back. Thanks.
We have found how to trigger the instability.
If you click the tab that you want to go to and just slightly (and I mean slightly) move the mouse while clicking, the tab will get moved to the end of the list of tabs. We have been able to reproduce this as we were having the same issue. Here is what shows up in the command box when you hit F2:
This bug is EXTREMLY annoying! I hope it gets the attention it deserves quickly.
There is a hotfix for this in the works. I have been told it should be on the knowledge.autodesk.com website within a couple of days. I had submitted a report for this last week and was emailed the hotfix this weekend. So far, I have no issues with it.
Link to the hotfix for this bug is here:

Hello
This hotfix/patch is for >>>
This Hotfix applies to the SP2 version of Autodesk AutoCAD LT 2015, AutoCAD 2015 and related verticals <<<
You have the same problem with CIVIL 2013 ?!
Just a quick idea : have you installed the SP2 for CIVIL 2013 ?
Maybe you could ask into the specific CIVIL forum !

Yes. I had it with C3D2012, and now with C3D 2013. I have software for C3D2014 and C3D2015 as I am on subsciption, but dont have the time to install and am happy with 2013 so far - other than the small annoyances like this layout tab sorting issue...
Hello
OK it's very strange !
But if your layouts are moving sometimes, this beautiful routine "TabSort" from LeeMac is the solution :
http://www.lee-mac.com/tabsort.html
I have never used it on CIVIL, but it runs on ACAD, so !?
Please try and let us know ...

Installatioin instructions are in the "Readme" pdf right below the zip files.
Hello
Welcome to the Autodesk/AutoCAD Forums !
1) So you have installed the SP2 on your ACAD 2015 :
2) Please follow instructions into the PDF :
So you will have to replace your "AcWindows.dll" file with the right one coming from the Patch/Hotfix !

Tried this hotfix running Map3D 2015 SP 3 and this annoying issue still rears it's ugly head from time to time. 😞
I installed the hotfix and now everytime I try to move a tab I get a fatal error. The tabs are too locked. Anyone else have this issue?
