2015 Not reporting correct color of objects

One of the many problems I'm having with AutoCAD 2015 is that is doesn't always find and recognize the correct color objects.  This make it impossible to select objects by color.

There seems to be nothing wrong - neither with the DWG file nor with AutoCAD. Just a blue solid object with magenta faces (subobjects) - the upper one. It does respond properly e.g. to "QSELECT blue objects".
