Hi!

I am using the following tutorial.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBrzATFkMzs

At 10 minutes the presspull operation is done.

I have attached my drawing.

I get unexpected result.

The hemisphere is filled.

I have marked that on jpeg file

All ideas are appreciated.
Thanks

Presspull depends works with the current ucs.  Your xy plane is perpendicular to the surface you want to presspull.  Erase the press-pulled solid.  Enter UCS and hit return twice and then try the presspull command.

Thanks for reply!

I have tried to set UCS parallel to the surface for presspull.

It doesn't work.

The file is attached.

All ideas are appreciated

You have a lot of disjointed solid and surface bodies in your file.

Is that what I'm going to see if I watch the video?

Also, in the latest file you posted the UCS is not set to World as instructed.

And finally, when you do set the UCS to World, click in the boundary, not on the boundary.

Works for me with your file.

The problem was a border polyline.

It didn't allow me to press inside bounded area.

When I was pressing presspull I was only able to choose the border polyline, and than presspull acts as extrude.

I erased the border and drew it again, and then I was able to press inside bounder area.

Now it works.

Thank you, guys.

Glad you found your solution.  The steps I gave worked quickly to solve the problem given the attached drawing.

Yes, thank you for help.

Sometimes autocad doesn't the way it should,

so I have to delete objects and create them from scratch.

Although it worked on your computer it didn't work on mine.

For example,

today I was struggling for about an hour in order to create shell object.

It just didn't work without any particular reason.

I deleted object, drew it again and created shell object in a few seconds.

It worked on my machine following exactly the steps that @dbroad outlined.

I noticed that in your second file attachment that you still hadn't set the UCS exactly as he instructed in the earlier response.

I have never seen AutoCAD return unexpected results when following exact steps.

I have seen users not follow instructions though.

When you have something that doesn't work (lile your shell problem) that you start over and then get to work - attach both files here and someone will explain why the first one will  not work.  It is only when you understand why something doesn't work that you really start to make progress.  I always tell my students you learn more from something that doesn't work.
