Problem when plotting Pointcloud

Hi,

In AutoCAD 2015 (Map3D) I've inserted a pointcloud Rcp (Recap project). In Recap you can choose to view size of point : 1 to 10

I've set my size to 2.

This parameter is successfully read by AutoCAD, and my point cloud is shown correctly in my layout and in plot preview.

But when I try to plot to PDF (via DwgToPdf or PdfCreator) Points in pointcloud have a size of 1 => Point are to small.

I join screen capture of what I see in Layout / Preview and Pdf generated from AutoCAD.

Is there a solution/variable to obtain a PDF File showing exactly what I see in Preview?

Thanks

Olivier

Hi,

sorry to have not a solution, I can just commit that AutoCAD 2017 ignores the pixel-width setting for the pointcloud too (for printing).

Hi Alfred,

I've found a workaround but I'm not satisfied.

I've created a new plotter (PC3) from Adobe PostScript Level2. With this plotter I can plot an EPS file which take care of point width. I've to transform EPS to PDF with another tool.

It's a little long process just to obtain a PDF file.

Hi,

After opening a ticket with support team, we've found a reason. POINTCLOUDPOINTSIZE value is convert in Pixel, so a size of 2 on screen at 72dpi is very smaller in a PDF at 300dpi. So to obtain same pixel size at 300dpi it's necessary to use a POINTCLOUDPOINTSIZE value of 5 or 6.
