Hi all I'm a newbie here in this forum and I need your help.
I found this error a bit strange, my colleague it trying to save a file and this error keeps on coming out (please see attachments). When we try to save it, it only saves as a temp file. When we try to open up the temp file and try to save it, it still doesn't allow us to do. Also, when we cancel the save, the original file will be gone and he will lost all of his data. Does any one of you experience the same problem and got the solution? I would really appreciate your response. Below are the specs of the computer and version of the AutoCAD.
Computer: DELL Precision T5500
OS: Windows 7 Ult
AutoCAD Version: 2011
Also, we're using ProSteel Series 3 as well. We tried saving the file using ProSteel and just AutoCAD but it didn't do the trick. I've tried some options (listed below) that might help it to work but still no luck.
1. Restart the computer.
2. Repair / Reinstall AutoCAD.
3. Give permission to the folder (read from the forum).
Hope someone can help me out.
1) If you create your own folder locally on your PC
something very short like : C:\DWGTEMP
If you put yours DWGs inside this folder, have you the same problem ?
2) Are you running with a standard Login or with an Admin Login ?
Yup I've done that one as well. I create a short path for it but still it doesn't work. Also when I'm trying to fix this one, another colleague of my has the same problem but this time his work is save on the network. The user by the way is login as standard one but he as admin privileges only on that computer (not domain admin).
Very strange !
So an other idea : Your anti-virus lets you create files with .DWG type/extension ? I hope so ?
Test : Could you create a text file named "xxxx.DWG" with notepad.exe ???
Yes, the anti-virus allows us to create .DWG type/extension. Also when I tried the test (creating .DWG file with notepad) it's working and I've create a .DWG file.
